Objectives

WACEL's mission is to develop and implement programs to promote and improve quality among firms and individuals involved in the observation and testing of construction. The primary programs WACEL undertakes to accomplish this mission:

• Expand the involvement and support of key managers and principals and obtain their commitment to WACEL's Strategic Plan

• Promote the benefit of WACEL programs, activities and reliance upon WACEL member firms to client groups, jurisdictions, code officials, members and design professionals

• Encourage jurisdictions to enforce existing certification and laboratory accreditation programs

• Self-police the profession to help ensure all members assign certified technicians to projects and that their laboratories are accredited

• Capitalize upon opportunities to help the public sector address budget cutbacks by developing programs that encourage reliance upon the private sector without compromising public health and safety

• Promote reliance upon qualifications-based selection
